Dr. Keifer is not a medicare provider.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation may be fully or partially covered for patients with a diagnosis of drug-resistant major depressive disorder. Treatment for most other conditions is seldom reimbursed by commercial insurance.
Dr. Keifer is an in-network provider for most common insurance plans in Hawaii (HMSA, HMAA, UHA). Our Tricare paperwork is being processed. In the meantime, if you have Tricare you may be able to contact your insurance company to develop a treatment contract with us on a case-by-case basis.
Dr. Keifer has in the past established case-by-case contracts with other insurance companies. This typically requires you follow up with your insurance company to advocate for seeking services at our clinic.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please call your insurance company for specific behavior health plan details regarding coverage. It is ultimately the insurance members responsibility to verify insurance benefits.
Cost of Neuromodulation
The cost of treatment will vary depending on length of your treatment course and insurance coverage. 6-8 weeks of weekday treatment is recommended for best results. Typically, within the first 2-3 weeks of beginning treatment we will know whether or not you will respond to neuromodulation (early clinical research and practice indicating 10-20% of people will not respond to treatment). Consistent follow up and adherence to your prescribed protocol will help reduce unecessary cost should you be a non-responder.
Cash and check are accepted for payment.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
